Careers in Geomatics Engineering

Career opportunities have always been good for BSc, MSC, MEng and PhD graduates of the Geomatics Engineering Program. In recent years, thanks to the spectacular growth of Geomatics Engineering, career opportunities have continued to grow at a healthy rate.

Job opportunities are present locally, nationally and in the United States. Companies particularily appreciate the strength of our graduates in computer programming and their flexibility to work in a variety of geomatics and related areas. Some of our graduating students receive multiple offers. The demand for our graduates has always been high and is expected to remain exceptionally high during at least the next decade.

Our strong interface with industry guarantees a high level of interest in our graduates. We strongly support our annual Career Day when companies come to meet our students. Businesses from all over North America are ecstatic about the capabilities and breadth of knowledge of our graduates.

In addition, many geomatics engineering jobs offer the opportunity to work outdoors and still maintain a level of responsibility that is commensurate with a degree in engineering. Full accreditation by both the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB) and the Canada Council of Land Surveyors (CCLS) increase the diversity of opportunities for graduates.

We are dedicated to ensuring that our students have a rich academic experience AND that they get a good entry job to start them on their way to a rewarding career. After all, that's what this is all about! We believe that, in Geomatics Engineering, we have one of a kind end-to-end commitment to our students that is next to impossible to find anywhere else.
