Geospatial Information Systems (GISs)

All information about the earth and its environment must be geographically referenced in order to be useful. Geospatial Information Systems (GISs) are specialized software systems that are designed to manage and analyze spatial information. The ability to use and design GISs and applications requires a knowledge of geospatial reference systems and computer engineering, as well as mathematical and computational descriptions of geospatial data. These are all covered in our program. GISs are an exploding technology and people with the expertise to design these systems are in hot demand.
